Telehealth Services Only:

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I am offering services only through Telehealth. I have been surprised by how well these video sessions work, and how effective therapy continues to be online.

Individual, Couple and Family Therapy

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, which means that the work we do in therapy is focused on healing through the comfort and security we can find in relationship.  Together, we explore how relationship to oneself, significant others, families, friendships and community both hinder and support the healing process.  By helping you and your loved ones find more safety and connection in your relationships, we are able to find lasting change for myriad problems that you might face, such as pervasive anxiety or depression, chronic conflict and discord, or healing from traumatic events.  To learn more about what this therapy is like, please see the video above, provided by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

More specifically, I tend to follow the theories and models outlined by Narrative, Structural and Bowenian Family Therapies, as well as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, and interpersonal neurobiology.  What this means is that individuals, couples and families I work with will find new strengths-based narratives about themselves and their relationships that help them persevere, they find new boundaries for themselves that help them to feel more in control and empowered in their lives, they learn about how their parents and grandparents, their people, have shaped who they are, and how they choose to differ.  It also means that clients and I work very closely in the realm of emotions, exploring ways that we are all reaching out to one another for support, and breaking down the barriers that get in the way of this support.
